Today is the first day of fall…but I will not be deterred from savoring one last taste of summer sun! Mint Lemon aid! It’s so easy people, and I bet you have some lemons laying around right?? Right? No? Well if not- just buy your fave lemon aid and buy some mint!
If you are making the lemon aid from scratch:
~Homemade Lemon aid~
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 3- to 4 cups water to dilute to taste!
~What to do~
1 Make a simple syrup by heating the sugar and 1st cup of water in a small saucepan, just until the sugar is dissolved.
2 While the sugar is dissolving, use a juicer to getthe juice from 4 to 6 lemons, enough for one full cup of juice.
3 Add the juice and the sugar water to a pitcher. Now add 3 to 4 cups of cold water, to taste. Less if your adding ice that will melt. Refrigerate, if the lemonade is a little sweet for your taste, add more lemon juice to it.
Now for the mint! Add half a packet of grocery store mint – or 1 handful of fresh mint to 2 cups of lemon aid! Blend!
Enjoy your last few gulps of summer.
The blending will make a really fun mint foam on the top. Who want’s a mint foam mustache?! Everyone! 😉
