Our family loves a Road Trip! Not only is it cheaper than flying, it gives you so many more opportunities to tailor the trip to your own specific family. But Road Trips do have one downfall, which is that there’s usually a lot of down time. And that’s where these travel apps come in!
Here are 5 of my favorite Road Trip Apps!
1. I always use my favorite phone app, called Waze – (available for Android, iPhone, and Windows phones). Waze is the perfect app for road trips, because it is updated in real time by other drivers so you are less likely to run into road closures. It also helps you save money by showing you the cheapest gas prices around you. Waze has quite a few other features, so it’s worth looking at before you get on the road!
2. Road Trip Bingo – Choose your game board based on the area you are road tripping through. Then see how many of the bingo slots you can fill in by watching what is whizzing by your car window!
3. Audible – Nothing passes the time on a road trip better than listening to a new book, read to you while you drive! There are so many awesome books to browse through on Audible. Our family loves the Harry Potter Series especially, the narration is top notch!
4. Road Trip: Family Fun – This app has lot’s of activities on it, and allows multiple people in the car to be engaged with one another during the games! This is a great app for starting some funny and educational conversations in the car!
5. Amazon Music! – Already have an Amazon Prime Membership? You should be using this app, it comes free with your subscription to Prime! On our last road trip we got the chance to review a brand new Subaru Legacy. One of the cool features it had was it’s ability to stream music from our account, if your car is also able to do the same – this app is the best! I could practically think of any song I wanted to hear , and have it play instantly. We also really enjoyed all the pre-created Road Trip Playlists on Amazon Music! Road Trip Country, Road Trip Classical, Road Trip playlists from every genre!
