First, a few pictures of Molly being a cutie… and then a yummy Cobbler recipe. Michael and I really enjoyed it, and it was easy! So I thought I’d pass the idea along…..

(I recently bought my daughter a small wading pool to splash around in! She loved it, and didn’t want to get out- even though she was getting cold! Silly little monkey!)

(Pumpkin playing with her namesake Puzzle, and horsey, and piglet!)
And… on to the dessert!I had several small bags of frozen strawberries, cherries, and mixed fruit in the freezer, and I have been wanting to use it up, to free up freezer space! So that was the inspiration, behind this “throw every frozen fruit you have in a pan” cobbler!

~MAKESHIFT COBBLER~

I just poured all three bags of fruit that I had into an oven safe dish. I didn’t add any sugar, as Michael and I aren’t fans of very sweet desserts. But if you think the fresh, or frozen fruit your using needs it- feel free to add it.

Below is a picture of all our mismatched fruit, mixed up and ready to go. This particular mix included frozen cherries, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.

Next, I mixed up a very simple crumble to bake on top.
The recipe I used was:
1 cup flour
1 cup rolled oats oatmeal
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 stick of softened butter, cut in small pieces

I mixed the dry ingredients together, and then the pieces of butter using my hands. I formed small clumps and crumbles as I went. Then poured the mixture on top of the fruit.

I put it in the oven after dinner, and I’d say it was there for about 25 minutes in an oven of 350. It was so SIMPLE, and so YUMMY!!! below is a picture of the cobbler as the topping started to bubble, and brown.

And this crumble recipe could literally go over ANY fruit you want to get rid of, not just berries- apples, peaches, plums…

So many kinds of cobbler. So little time!! Happy Baking, and Happy Memorial Day!:)

That cobbler sounds and looks fabulous!!! And Dave and I have tons of frozen fruit in the freezer – we should try this! Thanks Shan!! 🙂

And Molly is adorably – I love her in her wading pool – and love that she didn’t want to get out. When I was little, my lips would honestly turn blue and I would STILL fight to stay in the pool longer…hahaha. Love that little Molly…and love all of you Schmids 🙂 Happy Memorial Day to you too!!

Molly is such a doll — look at those cheeks! Her wading pool is so cute. 🙂

Your cobbler sounds delicious, I absolutely love that kind of thing and will save this recipe for when our plum and cherry trees are producing this summer! Thanks for sharing!

We tried the cobbler and it was DELICIOUS!! Turns out we had about 1/5 of a bag of frozen berries and a full bag of blueberries so we had blueberry cobbler with a handful of mixed berries thrown in. And I totally didn’t bake it long enough at first, so it was all cold and runny…LOL. But after another 25 minutes in the oven it was wonderful!! 🙂 Thanks so much for the recipe!!
And I love that Molly and I have something in common 🙂 I was such a little water bug when I was little….and the water could be like 60 degrees and it would be perfectly acceptable swimming water. As long as I could swim I just didn’t care. And I always wanted my parents in with me….hahaha. Hopefully Molly and I aren’t too much alike in that regard…otherwise prepare for polar bear swims 😉 Love ya!
