This is Molly with Strider, our dog. He’s a big dog, but a sweetie, and we love him! And Molly loves him too! In fact, if you read the last post you know we have to keep him separated from Molly so she doesn’t play too roughly with him!
Anyway, Molly has no fear of Strider- she is happy to creep up behind him to try and pet him, or snuggle next to him! She is not afraid of dogs…
Which is why I was surprised to learn while reading her this finger puppet book, that she IS afraid of the little puppy in it!!
She won’t touch the little furry puppet, and when I wiggle my finger inside the little puppy so it will move- she cowers into me!
Big real dog = no problem.
Tiny fake puppet dogs = CREEPY!!!
Although I found it surprising… I do have to admit her fear of finger puppets, does seem somewhat sensible:)
Just stopping by to welcome you to SITS! We are glad to have you:) I love the cute pics and your blog!
Hugs, Sandy
Hilarious! Although…I have to agree that finger puppet does look a little creepy. Strider is far more cute, cuddly and friendly looking 🙂 I love the pic of baby and puppy together 🙂
awww thats so cute that she snuggles next to my boyfriend Strider!! lol:) hehe no but seriously thats great that they are becoming good friends. Maybe she’s weirded out by the puppet because she knows its not real??? so she’s like – how comes he’s moving??? just my thought!:)love you!!!!!
Thanks Sandy- I look forward to meeting all you ladies as well! Thanks for stopping by!
Laura- yes Strider is WAY cuddlier! And I do have to sort of support her decision to be wary of puppets- becuase they are a might creepy. She is so wise, for one so young;)
Nikki- She TRIES to snuggle with Strider, but we don’t let her. She would snuggle- and then she would try to play with him by pinching him, or mauling him! It’s cute she wants to be buddies with him though:)
I think it’s so sweet that babies and dogs are just the cutest pairs! Visiting from SITS.
Hey Mathea! yes- babies and pets are pretty adorable together:) Enjoyed looking at your blog- thanks for saying hello!
Ha ha! Please tell Miss Molly that I’m laughing with her, not at her. 🙂
And about sewing…I promise you could learn to do it! I only started as an adult, when I decided I wanted to sew, bought a cheap machine and a pattern and followed the directions. I’m not nearly as talented as people who’ve been doing it forever, but it is fun to make those girly dresses.
Thanks for stopping by my blog on my SITS day!! What a beautiful baby and dog! And this story is too funny! I have a feeling I will take pictures like this when we have children too!
LOL, hold on to that! Trust me, she needs something that she can be ‘afraid’ of. Zach was petrified of Elmo, so I would put Elmo in front of anything that I didn’t want him to get into – ie, no climbing stairs = elmo on step, no eating dog food = elmo in front of dog food (you get the idea)…it got to a point that if i didn’t want him to do something I just had to say ELMO – yeah, i know, bad mommy…but it was a lifesaver, and now, 2 years later, he has no fear of elmo or residual effects 🙂 xoxo
