This weekend I headed to Dallas to The Galleria, to check out all their holiday decorations. And to bring my daughter to meet the man in red! Santa!
The Galleria Dallas is decked out in beautiful Christmas Trees in every corner, swags of red, a huge blazing menorah, and the piece de resistance – The Galleria Christmas Tree! Lot’s of holiday fun for every family member…
The Galleria Christmas Tree: The Galleria Christmas Tree is the tallest indoor Christmas Tree in the country, weighing 5 tons! It displays 450,000 twinkling LED Lights, and does a super fun light and music show randomly through the day! It has a tree lighting ceremony each weekend which features an ice skating Santa, as well as Olympic skaters Kurt Browning & Sarah Hughes on different days! Definitely worth adding to your holiday must do list if you live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area!
Visiting Santa: The inventive and fun que for meeting Santa Claus is a relief for parents used to having to entertain their kids while they wait in a long boring line! Designed by the preminent Christmas window designer- John Carter. The line is a fun an engaging maze that kids and parents get to explore while they wait to meet the big man! The Santa que maze twists and turns, and leads to several fun interactive “window” displays. Kids push a button to see them come to life! And parents get to enjoy the experience of waiting for their child’s turn to meet Santa, rather than dreading it!
Lighting the Menorah: Nov. 27th, Rabbi Mendel Dubrawsky, head rabbi at Chabad of Dallas, will lead a 5 p.m. event that will include the lighting of the first night’s Hanukkah candle, a performance by the Akiba children’s choir and free sufganiot (deep-fried jelly doughnuts) and gelt (chocolate coins) for everyone. The Galleria menorah will be illuminated with an additional light each of the eight nights at 5 p.m
