The KAABOO Festival was a revelation for me. I was excited to go, and it was obvious that there were incredible artists coming. But beyond that, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But guys. It was so much more than just incredible concerts! KAABOO Texas blew my mind night, after night, after night! And I realized by the end of the festival, that I had learned a few valuable insights into how I could maximize my KAABOO Festival experience for next year. I hope these tips will help you as well…

The first thing I realized at KAABOO Texas 2019 – is that I will be back next year. There is no way I would want to miss next year, after the experience I had at KAABOO this year. But here are some things I will think about next year…
Planning to attend the next KAABOO Festival too? Here are 5 things I’ll be sure to do next year…

1. Upgraded Passes are worth their weight in gold, if it’s in your budget. KAABOO had four levels of upgrades at this years festival, and even the most basic of those upgrades included access to areas super close to the stage at each venue. That reserved access, gave pass holders the ability to show up to an act right as it was starting – and still get phenomenal views! Upgraded wrist bands also had food and bathroom options right by the stage, as well as tables and umbrellas to sit at near several venues.
While I did have great views from my basic level wristband – I kept thinking of all the incredible photos I could have grabbed with upgraded access! So if an upgrade is in your budget – KAABOO is the place to get one!
2. Download the KAABOO App ahead of the festival, and enable sharing!
I’m often not a fan of festival Apps. But the KAABOO App had several features that were really worth having, and I wish I had downloaded it earlier! One of my favorite features was the ability to connect the app to your Facebook account, and then share your location at KAABOO with your friends also there! I saw so many people after the festival sharing on social media how much fun they had, and then having friends say “hey! I was there too! I wish I’d known we were both going!” The KAABOO App made it possible to connect in real time with your friends.
I also love that the KAABOO App allowed you to build a custom schedule, choosing which acts or experiences you most wanted to see. Then you could get reminders as new experiences were starting, reminding you of where something you wanted to see was taking place! Lastly, the App had a place to connect your wristband to a credit card so you could use cashless payment at some registers. I loved not having to get my credit card out for each transaction. The App was a great tool for getting the most out of the event.
3. Don’t be afraid to Uber. The first two days of the festival I planned to drive and park. I was dreading the idea of trying to catch an Uber at the same time as thousands of other people! But on the last day, my friend convinced me to give it a try. WOW.
I had no idea a ridesharing experience could go so smoothly. Directions to the Uber parking lot were clearly marked at the festival, and led you to a blocked off area with lots of space. Seating, water, and bathrooms were right nearby in this waiting zone! Request your ride, and once you driver is ready (for us it was instantaneous!) you proceed to the clearly marked rows of waiting drivers! We hopped in, and KAABOO employees waved our car right out of the lot. The whole process took less than 10 minutes!
Next year, I will plan to use Uber everyday. It could not have been a more relaxing process!

4. Go earlier, stay later – in order to make more time for the Palate, and the Humor Me Stage.
There is so much to see and do at KAABOO, that you do have to make some choices about what is most important to you. You truly can’t see everything. But I realized after attending KAABOO this year, that I could have made time for more fun – if I had come to the festival as soon as it opened, rather than waiting for the first musical act I was excited to see. Seeing world renowned chefs, and partaking in some of the fun vendor experiences would have been the perfect way to start the day at KAABOO!
Likewise, weather permitting, there were late night acts in the Humor Me Tent, that would have been fun to stay extra late for! So next year, I’d plan to spend as much time at the Festival as I can. And arriving early and staying late will definitely be on my agenda!

5. Go to some of the Bands you are less familiar with. It’s easy to get so overwhelmed with the big name artists at KAABOO, that you forget to make a point of exploring some of the stages with artists you are less familiar with. I was lucky to be attending the festival with a friend that had musical tastes that diverged from mine. I went to see several artists she wanted to go to, and ended up loving their music! In fact my playlist is now filled with new music, that I heard for the first time at KAABOO. I am so grateful my friend dragged me along to some of “her” choices. I learned about some great new music, and connected to a different crowd than I might have found if I’d stayed on my own well beaten path!
Did you go to KAABOO Texas too? I’d love to hear the tips you learned this year. You can share them with me, and learn about other events in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
See you next year at KAABOO! You will not want to miss it!
