We recently bought a new house. And along with the fun of decorating a new space, came the realization that we had less square footage to work with and we needed to be very creative with how we used furniture! Every piece we chose to put in the new house had to be a perfect mix of both form and function, and so we started looking at the possibilities on Sauder.com!
Sauder had a lot of furniture options, and one piece that caught my eye was this 3 shelf Bookcase. I was drawn to the bookshelf because it was very competitively priced at just $39.99 per bookshelf, which was super helpful since I needed 3.
The ordering Process:
1. About a week after ordering, my bookcases were delivered. You can see them in the photo below as they looked when they arrived on my doorstop. They were packed beautifully. The product was perfectly protected inside and also wasn’t over packed.
2. This is what the contents of the bookshelf flat pack looked like immediately after unpacking. I was very, very relieved to see that the instruction manual was very well illustrated, and didn’t leave me guessing at what went where. Every step was articulated and there was also a customer service number available in case I had follow up questions. But I didn’t. My first bookshelf was assembled in about 25 minutes.
3. This photo shows what my finished bookshelf looked like! I was very proud, this may have been the first piece of furniture I assembled all by myself, with no help from hubby! I’m not saying it was. But it might have been 😉
The Two Creative Ways I styled the same Bookcase:
Our Guest Room- The Guest Room needed a pop of color, and I also needed a place to put an over flow of books.
I used my first Sauder Bookshelf as originally intended – as a bookshelf! However I styled it by putting the books not in order of size or subject, but by color! This Rainbow styled bookcase brings such a fun, whimsical look to this guestroom, and I love that its short enough to serve as a console table as well. My plants easily fit on its wide top!
The Laundry Room: Our new house has lovely tall ceilings, and I wanted to exploit that fact when I styled the last two bookcases I purchased. I’ve been realizing that the new space has a lot of vertical real estate, and that was particularly the case in my laundry room!
I used a Sauder 3 Shelf Bookcase on each side of the laundry room shelf. They add SO much more storage! I added paper towel storage to them, as well as bins on their shelves that hold cleaning supplies, batteries, extra light bulbs etc.
Then – I used a tension bar between the bookcases to add some extra space to hang clothes to dry! It takes up no extra space, and makes my laundry room so much neater!
Exactly the same bookshelves are used in both rooms – just for different purposes!
I was very pleased with my experience using Sauder.com. The simple ordering process and reasonable pricing impressed me initially, but now that I’ve used my bookshelves I also appreciate the heavy duty quality. I expect them to last a long long time, and I can’t wait to think of more ways to style them!
