This past September I had the honor of being part of a phone call with Malala. It was so inspiring to hear from someone so young, and yet so passionately advocating for the right of girls worldwide to have access to education!
Malala Yousafzai you may remember, was the young school girl who was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen in 2012, for the outrageous offense of believing that she as a female should be allowed to go to school. The cover of Time Magazine followed, as did the The Noble Peace Prize!
And now Malala’s story is available to a wider audience, with the movie “He Named Me Malala.”
The film will premiere commercial-free on National Geographic Channel this Monday Feb. 29 at 8pm ET/7pm CT.

Our family will be joining people all over the world, by having a watch party during the premiere of the film. Malala is such a wonderful role model, not only young people but all people. Her story is truly one of resilience, passion and a deep love of learning!
