Getting ready for back to school like we are? It’s TERRIFYING right?! Here are 3 things I’m doing right now to get ready!
~3 Things We are doing to get Ready for back to school~
1) Pre- Prep Meals for busy school days-
I am prepping dinners and just as importantly breakfasts ahead of time! Things that can be made super fast! My preschooler is a picky breakfast eater so for her, I’ve frozen several single serve bags of frozen fruit. I can pour a bag into our blender in the morning with a scoop of yogurt and have a healthy “smoothie” ready for her in a minute or two! I could even pour it in a to go cup with a top and straw – and let her sip it on our way to school if we needed to!
2) Start tricking the kids into sleeping on the school sleep schedule-
My daughter doesn’t start school for 2 weeks- so starting this week we are waking her up earlier, and moving her bedtime up by 5 minutes a night until we get to the times she needs to go to bed and get up, once her school starts!
3) Shop back to school deals online and save –
I am buying back to school clothes online, and looking for a great deal! I found some great leggings and boots at Plum District. And they agreed to give all of my readers discount! Just use code: SHANNON20 (only good through August!) if you’d like to get the same deals or any deal on their site for 20% off!

Happy Back to School!

Oh – love the idea of getting things ready ahead of time and in the freezer! So far I am working on getting kids to bed earlier…(have to say it isn’t working for me so far…) And we’ve gone over what we need to do in the morning before school…but having some things ready in the freezer sounds like a great idea!
@OneMommy, It really does!
I need to get my kids back on a reasonable sleep schedule. The sun just needs to go down earlier. 😉 Love your frozen smoothies idea too.
@Real Posh Mom | Jennifer, Umm, yeah we need to get that sun to start listening don’t we? Good luck on the kids sleep schedules! 🙂
awesome list of things! thanks for sharing, will def keep this in mind when baby o starts school! 🙂
@martha @ mama owl blog, Thanks Martha! PS. I LOVE your glasses:)
I’m gonna have to try the smoothies on the kids. I love them, but hadn’t introduced them yet!
@Autumn, Really? I bet they will love them! I use them for breakfasts and sometimes dinner! lol.
What a good idea! I always wish i had that skill of “organization”, and could keep track of doing such things like the freezer bags.
I love that you are prepping now with some freezer meals! That is my kind of meal planning mommy solution!
