This past Saturday, Molly and I visited Fort Worth for “A day in the District” – where many Fort Worth museums, and cultural centers were free for the day!
We chose to visit The Fort Worth Botanic Garden!
It was a lovely sunny day, and we really enjoyed looking at all the theme gardens and butterfly watching! If you live in the DFW area, I really recommend taking a day trip there.
There were lot’s of stations along the trails for children explore. In fact, the pictures above are of Molly playing in a “log” with rubber insides. It had holes all along it so kids could pretend they were a Forrest creature in their own little log home! Molly loved it.
As the weather gets cooler, and the seasons change I’m sure we will be making many more trips to The Botanic Garden. It’s a lot of fun, and a beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Hope you enjoy our pictures!
Thanks to Miss Autumn for telling us about “A day in the District!”- she’s a mom in the know! You can check out Autumn’s blog here!

These are wonderful photos! Love little Molly's face peering through the hole in the log. You probably know this, but there's another great botanical garden in the DFW area, The Dallas Arboretum. You may want to want to check that one out next. It's a bit harder to get to on the opposite shore of White Rock Lake on the east side of Dallas, but worth the trip. They decorate the mansion (upon whose grounds the gardens reside) for Christmas, also; so that's another good time to visit. I stopped at Borders (free WiFi like B&N) for a super quick lunch and am about to head back to campus for meetings. Love and miss my girls! Talk to you later! ~Daddy
p.s. Molly's photo peering through the log is my new wallpaper. 🙂
Hi there Shannon 🙂
What beautiful photographs, the Gardens look gorgeous and little Miss Molly is just too dang CUTE!!! I love your site here, by the way….grand job 🙂 *Big Hugs* to you all from your Irish Pal, across the way!!! xoxoxo
awwwww!!! I love those pics!!! The Botanical Gardens look so pretty and such a great place to go and just walk around or take the kiddies for the day. Molly looks like she's shaking the lady's hand! I feel like kids can make a place so much more magical right? We have one in NY that Martin's mom used to take him to all the time when he was little, its funny when we go there now and he tells me how they've changed since then!
We also love the botanical gardens. Glad to have discovered another local mom blogger.
