Blog in which I attempt to Garden….

May 7, 2010 Shannon Schmid 23 Comments

I do not have  a green thumb.  For instance – I am inexplicably able to kill bamboo… which  is impossible to kill.  I have killed many houseplants over the years, some from forgetting to water for a few months-oops.  And some plants have met their end after I watered them a little too enthusiastically.  Still though, I persevere.

This past weekend I looked at the empty pots outside our house, and the empty dirt patch next to our walkway – and devised a plan.  I WOULD NURTURE LIFE!!!!!

So far I have kept our new plants alive for a WEEK.  I think this time may be different.

( Sad empty pots.  Wishing someone would love on them…)

(Many empty plant containers, and one Venti Ice Latte later…)

(The same planting pots, but fulfilled. Feeling on purpose…)

(House without Flowers in front…)

(House WITH flowers in front. Our neighbors are likely thrilled that we have caved to their “grow a flower garden” peer pressure.)

I’m staying positive.  I hope to see my plants alive for another week or two…

shannon good luck with the plants. This week, I bought a no. of artifical flowers to make an arrangement. I may have some left over ,just in case just let me know. We had a neighbor who put artifical flowers in his walkway. Your Dad didn’t know the difference. Hope your efforts work out with REAL flowers.

Good luck! I have a totally black thumb and people who have green thumbs don’t understand. They always tell me, “Just water them. That’s all it takes.” Uh … OK.

Just stopped by with a follow from mom loop! =)

I have killed bamboo in the past. But I have more than brown thumb, I have a black thumb. I can kill a plant just by looking at it. Sad.

    I love your blog!
