We’ve been been wanting to go camping as a family for a long time, but Texas heat can make that a tricky proposition! And that’s one reason why we were so excited to be invited to Best Day Ever Ranch, Located in Whitewright, TX.
This sylvan setting, brings together all the best parts of camping without the most difficult! Tried and true campers can pitch a tent in one of the beautiful pastoral clearings on the ranch, and those who can’t leave the A/C behind – can rent a rustic cabin. We went with the cabin!
And when you’re not at your campsite, there are so many great activities at your finger tips…
Fishing – It was great to have full access to the lake on the ranch. A quick trip into its boathouse showed life jackets, paddle boards, swimming floats, a canoe, and lot’s of fishing supplies.
All the lake goodies are there for campers to use, and we grabbed a pole and started to fish. It took no time at all to get a bite!
Mountain Biking – Best Day Ever Ranch may have some of the best mountain biking in Texas. In fact the owner, Paul Wyche had a childhood dream of constructing the ultimate mountain biking trail. And that dream inspired the over 6 miles of riding trails, and over 3 miles of riding ranch roads. Go for a long solo ride, or take a shorter family ride.
A great way to experience the beauty of the ranch and surrounding forested areas.
Campires – Some cabin rentals have fire pits adjacent to them, and the ranch also has two much larger public fire pits as well. Nothing like star gazing and S’mores, right? B
y the way, bring your telescope to take advantage of the true dark at camp – you will see stars you’ve never been able to see around city lights!
Petting Zoo – We had the sweetest interactions with the animals at Best Day Ever Petting Zoo. Tina the llama got a little handsy with my hubby, but I forgive her! I loved the two donkeys, and my daughter made friends with every goat she saw! The ranch also has 3 resident dogs that will follow you around and jump in your golf cart as you zoom around camp.
Horseback Riding – The Ranch offers Stall Boarding, Pasture Boarding, as well as Trail Rides. You can also just go visit the horses! They are beautiful and so sweet!
Event Space – Looking to throw a rustic wedding, or get the family together for a Reunion? The event barn is perfect. Within walking distance to the cabin rentals, the event barn features a soaring roof, and country style interior made from unclaimed wood.
Cabin Rentals – Ranging in size from 256 to 6224 sq. feet – the cabins on property give you the chance to camp, with A/C comfort. Amenities inside the cabins vary from domicile to domicile – but many feature microwaves, refrigerators, and indoor or outdoor showers. A futon allows you the opportunity to sleep people downstairs, as well as upstairs in the loft space. The simple decor and construction keep the focus on nature, and the beautiful ranch surroundings! Also sure to be appreciated, are the covered porches. Perfect for a glass of wine in the evening!
The jewel of Best Day Ever Ranch? No question, it’s the awesome tree house cabin! This cabin is NOT rustic or austere. It’s gorgeous, luxurious and private. Here is a 2 minute video look inside…
We had an awesome time bonding as a family at Best Day Ever Ranch! Having a chance to reconnect to one another, as well as nature was a wonderfully grounding experience. Walking in the quiet Forrest or skipping stones in the lake, let our minds stop racing after a busy week. We started to breath slower, and take in the beauty around us.
Visiting Best Day Ever Ranch – was a chance to to get back to whats important in life. And I’m grateful for all the friendships made there, and the sun drenched memories made all around it’s very special grounds.
