Don’t you just love Halloween crafts?
I do. And I’ve always been partial to those darling soaps with spiders and bugs trapped inside at boutique stores. So fun and festive!
Did you know they are CRAZY easy to make yourself? What about making your own spooky Halloween soaps this year? It’s cheap and fun! Here is how you do it…
YOU WILL NEED:
-Block of glycerin soap (available at any craft store like Michael’s or JoAnne’s)
-silicone muffin mold
-small plastic Spiders (or eyeballs, bugs whatever…)
Steps:
1. Cut glycerin block along pre-scored lines, filling each cup of a flexible silicone muffin mold with two sections of soap. The soap will cut very easily!
2. Put the silicone muffin mold into the microwave for about 35 seconds, just long enough to melt the glycerin. Remove melted soap from oven and place on a flat surface.
3. Using tweezers or chopsticks, suspend plastic Halloween toys face down in the melted soap. Allow the soap to cool. Once soap has fully hardened, gently pop bars out of the flexible muffin cups.
4. Cover soap bars with tissue paper or clear wrap and tie with ribbon. These make a great noncandy Halloween party favor or addition to treat bags.
Simply wrap your custom spooky soaps up in cellophane, and ribbon and use as party favors or in a gift bag!
Who knows, maybe your little ghosts and ghoulies will want to wash their hands after all that candy this year, when they see how fun the soap is!
