Today Milk and Cuddles is being featured on a cool website called SITS that showcases bloggers from all walks of life!
Below is a short video welcome to all you SITS peeps, but let me first say in writing – THANK YOU so much for stopping by! In Today’s busy world it takes a special kind of spirit to take time to come say hello to a blogger you don’t know- so thank you so much for the encouragement!
What kind of things do you write about? I write about whatever is going on in my life. Sometimes I review new products, and run giveaways! Other times my blogs take the shape of a a new favorite recipe I’ve found, that I just have to pass on! I also blog about being a new mom, and the struggles and frustrations that can come along with that. I also ask readers for their advice or wisdom on a number of different topics. Below are a sampling of some blogs on different subjects – perhaps one will strike your fancy??

How this blog got started: I started this blog shortly after the birth of my daughter, being a new mom can be an isolating experience. You feel like your doing everything wrong, and sometimes you just need to vent. Also, when I married my husband I moved to Texas, leaving a career in TV production behind in NYC. Although there is truly nothing as exciting, and fufilling as watching my baby daughter grow, I missed a creative outlet. That outlet became this blog!

Happy SITS day! I just read your post on nursing, and completely agree. Now that I am on nursing baby #2 I just say forget all those people and I nurse. Believe me they would rather have me nursing under my blanket then my sweet one crying because she is hungry. Love your blog! You are super fun to read.

Hello! I'm new to sits. Love your blog and agree totally with you about needing a creative outlet. I moved to a different part of my state just over a year ago and left all of my friends of about 20 years. My kids are both in college so meeting peeps takes a lot longer. Blogging has definitely helped me get through some of the tougher times. Btw nice to meet you! 😀

Yeah for your sits day! I am definitely going to try the vodka recipe…my mom makes a blackberry vodka that is quite delicious, but your concoction sounds amazing. As for the phone…you got me…I keep wishing for the days when a phone was just a phone…no bells and whistles. I am the lamest person when it comes to technology. thank goodness I am married to a techie…he saves me.
I too left behind a TV career to becoming a SAHM. And I'm so glad I can blog to keep in touch with other and realize that I'm not actually all that crazy.

I have to say about the breastfeeding maybe I'm rude or classless or maybe it's my New York attitude but I b/f my kids wherever we were when they got hungry. If anyone suggested I b/f in the bathroom I "sweetly" suggested that they take their next meal in the toilet.
If I don't take my meals in the bathroom I don't see any reason why my kids should.

I enjoyed your nursing post. It's been a long time since I had to nurse a baby in public but I know that society hasn't fully accepted it yet. Unlike here in Africa–they leave it all hanging out for the world to see. LOL I'm sure there's a balance.

That vodka recipe looks yummy.
I agree with the breastfeeding post. I bf all 3 of my boys. I felt like you did with my first, but pretty much stopped caring with #2 and #3. I did get a nursing cover with my third baby and it worked wonders. I never did have any luck with using a blanket. With the cover, I could nurse AND chase my other two boys around at the same time.
Any dirty looks I ever got- I gave them right back.

I especially loved your post about nursing mothers. I've been right there with you…scouting out decent bathrooms to nurse in, pretending to try on clothes at the store so that I could nurse in the changing rooms, etc. And let me tell you, while I have heard a lot of juicy gossip while nursing for what sometimes seemed forever in those out of the way places…I once heard this woman detailing the affair she was having…crazy…I would love for nursing moms to be accepted anywhere—provided they are adequately covered up, which most nursing moms are. I always smile when I see a woman who is standing up for taking care of her baby's most basic need no matter where she is. It makes me proud to be a woman!

Loved your post on breastfeeding. I can so relate. When I was nursing my daughter, we had many interesting run-ins with passerby. One I remember in particular was nursing in a handicap stall because there was no nursing room~ only a sitting area literally out in the mall. An older woman yelled at me through the stall door because she didn't feel I should be in there taking up space for people who truly needed to use the stall. She said I should sit out front where I belonged, but when I flung the door open with my nursing child latched on, her tune changed. UGH…

Oh, and about your breast feeding blog… I'm a guy and I totally do not see what the big deal is? There is nothing sexual about feeding your baby in such a natural loving fashion. I don't understand why someone would have a problem with it.
Good lord, I didn't watch it (no I don't mean that like "I read Playboy, but just for the articles") the Victoria Secret's "Christmas Special" (Christmas?), but from the clip I saw on the Daily Show last night, people worried about discrete public breastfeeding, but watch shows like that have their priorities out of whack.

I love your blog & can totally relate to the nursing post. However I will have to admit that before I had my baby I thought "I will never nurse in public" but ever since he was born I have had a change of heart & frequently feed him in stores, etc (although I usually try to pick a mall with a Babies R Us or Baby Gap b/cI know they will have a nursing room!

Your video was AWESOME!!! I really like the part that said you would do to me what I would do you because now, I am know I am not the only who says things like that 🙂
I hope you have figured out your iPhone by now. I have had mine since May and I love it. I <3 it SO much that I sleep with it under my pillow. One thing that I figured out after having my iPhone for about 4 months is the little toggle button on the side that shows the orange dot when you move it. Yeah…that makes your WHOLE PHONE SILENT. No need to call Apple and tell them that your phone's speakers were abducted by aliens….like I did.

I absolutely love your blog.. i love that i can totally see a personality in your writing.. it's amazing how many of these blog started from mothers who needed an outlet.. i think that it's great to see that there are other mothers out there who really do feel the same! 🙂 i love it!
