Nathan Fillion – have you checked him out?

Get your minds out of the gutter people!

I did not mean have you “checked him out” like that! I meant… have you sampled his many television and movie roles? I did not mean in ANY way that he should be used as eye candy! You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Get yourself together people!! 😉

Okay, seriously though- you should check out Nathan Fillion, because he’s played some really interesting and quirky roles. His latest show is on ABC, and is called Castle. And if you’re not familiar with him, you have the perfect chance to see him.

…Want some good gossip from The View? This Monday morning Nathan Fillion is stopping by to see the ladies of The View, during a day of hot topics! You heard it here first:)

So in honor of his View appearance, I thought I’d list 3 fun Nathan Fillion  roles, worth checking out! If you missed some of these –  netflix them!

1. Firefly. One of the best series..EVAH people. I wasn’t interested in it at first because it seemed all sci-fi, and I’m generally not into that. But it was romantic, poignant, character driven, and just really funny! When my husband and I were dating he lived in Texas, and I lived in NYC. He sent me this series as a gift, and we would both push “play” on our DVD players at the same time, so we could watch it together as a date!  And to this day, when I just want to relax and watch some smart writing (Joss Whedon), I put this show on.

2. Waitress – Is a quirky indie movie with Kerri Russell. Kind of an offbeat -but sweet. Kerri Russell is ambivalent about being pregnant, and her current relationship when she meets Fillion, a local doctor. Not a predictable Hollywood storyline.

3. Castle– a show with quick wit, and lots of fast paced banter. Sexual chemistry abounds between the two main characters, a policewoman and a novelist that writes murder mysteries. I also love that Fillion’s character, is a single dad of a teen age daughter, and they have a wonderful relationship! So often TV shows have parents and teenagers at odds, this show breaks that mold.

PS. if your single, or you have an understanding husband, it’s probably OK to notice Nathan Fillion is kinda cute. 😉

*I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for ABC Daytime and will receive a tote bag or other The View branded items to facilitate my review.

Yeah, I've got a man crush on Nathan. He's a guys guy, as competent in action films as he is HI-larious at comedy. Such a bummer Firefly was canceled, but at least he's back in Castle. I noticed you left out his much lauded performances in such classic films as "Slither" and "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog". 😉

Hey! I'm here responding to your Saturday Friday Follow.

I <3 Captain Tightpants… My hubby thinks it's cute that Castle is my must-see TV for the week — but he indulges me and, as a joke, bought me the Rick Castle novel. Yes, such a thing exists… I'm a new follower!

It really bugs me when shows make the teen-parent relationship worse than it needs to be. One of the major reasons I quit letting my kids watch the Disney channel.
Yes. Disney. Watch a few of the shows that aren't cartoons and look at the dynamics. Parents, people of authority are stupid, disrespected and it's totally ok. Meanwhile the kids are all smart-mouth brainiacs constantly at war with their siblings. Very snarky writing IMHO.

And yes, the man is rather nice on the eyes.
