The North American Tour of Disney’s Newsies is currently in Dallas, TX. And thanks to our friends at WFAA – my family and I were able to take in one of the first performances at The Winspear Opera House!
And to say it was incredible is an understatement!
Is it worth Seeing?
The cast of Newsies is flawless – and the choreography and dancing are some of the best I’ve ever seen! I’m so impressed that this show keeps the Broadway caliber performances and sets – on the road! It must be a real feat getting used to each new theater they tour, and making the show seem as if it was made for that space! That was certainly how it felt when we saw the show at The Winspear!

Disney’s Newsies is an engaging show for the whole family. Not only does it have so much to teach viewers about what life was like in 1899, but it has some wonderful empowering messages for younger theater goers! The plot revolves around a bunch of kids making a real difference in their world.
The production recommends the show for ages 10 and up. If you’re looking to give a child a little historical perspective before the show, try this Newsies Study Guide!
If you’d like to see Newsies on Tour, there is still time to grab some seats!
Newsies is performing April 29 – May 10, 2015 at the Winspear Opera House in downtown Dallas. Learn more here.
