Fellow DFW Parents- are you like me, always looking for something neat to do with your kids but coming up with the same options over and over? I have a suggestion! Check out the new exhibit at The Fort Worth Museum of Science & History – Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body!
My 3 1/2 year old daughter and I visited the Museum the week Grossology opened, and we had a great time. I would say that my daughter was on the young side for this particular exhibit. And I think children that can read, up through Jr. High would be an ideal age to be entertained and still absorb the scientific principals being explored. However, even very young patrons will still thoroughly enjoy the hands on nature of the exhibit.
This neat exhibit is based on the best-selling book Grossology. And uses “sophisticated animatronics and imaginative exhibits to tell you the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and much more!”
Below are some pictures from our trip to the museum…
-My daughter getting to interact with a larger-than-life cartoon character, that drinks from a 3-foot pop can! The stomach pressure increases until the character releases a giant burp.
-Nigel- an animatronic exhibit that talks about how a nose functions, including allergies, sinuses, snot trivia & runny noses!
-Taking a ride down the GI slide, and crawling out of the lower intestine. This was probably my daughters favorite part of the exhibit!
-Climbing up a large-scale replica of human skin. Yes she is holding onto pimples and moles:)
-Playing a Jeopardy style “gameshow” at the end to test guests on what they learned. Younger guests may need a parents help reading the questions.
-Best part of the exhibit for mom & dad? There is a really good chance that at the end you will have one happy and tired kiddo…that will take a great nap!

This looks like a wonderful exhibit. There are so many interactive areas in it.
