So this is my last week with my 2010 Chevy Malibu! I’m going to be so bummed when I give it back, but it has taught me a lot about what I want in a car in the future!
At the beginning of this journey I said I’d answer some of your questions about the Chevy Malibu as I discovered it’s features. So below I’ve done my best to give you my take on the things you asked. And I’m linking to all the cool people who’s questions I answered!

~Your Questions~
The activity mom said: “I’d like to know about the room in the back, trunk space for groceries and how easy the surfaces and seats and floors are to clean.”
-The Chevy Malibu has a pretty impressive amount of legroom in the back, definitely more than my current car has even though they are about the same physical size. You can see how well my groceries fit in the trunk in this video if you’re interested in that! as far as surfaces go- the seats are a VERY wipeble leather. I’ve wiped spills from my toddlers sippy cup with no problem. On cloth seats that may have been a concern, but in my model it’s a total breeze!
Laura asked: Will it have OnStar?? I’ve always wondered how/if that program works! Can’t wait to read about it!
– OnStar is the thing I will miss the MOST! I’ve used it to get directions to tons of stuff as well as to find out what stores are nearby my location! It rocks- and I will be missing it like CRAZY when I give the car back!
Danielle asked: Cup holder that can hold various sizes of cups?
-Yes the car has cup holders in the back as well as two different size cup holders in the center console upfront. AND and additional place to put a cup on the passenger and driver door!
Danielle said: I’m HUGELY picky about the sound system in a car.
-So am I! And the Chevy Malibu is outfitted with all BOSE speakers- as you probably know those are top notch!
Mary Bennett asked: Does it have the lights on the interior of the car and/or the headlights that stay on after you turn them off, so you can get into your house in light and not dark?
-Yes it does!
Can you turn off the passenger side airbag in case you have someone in the front seat who would be injured by an airbag?
–It actually has a sensor that analyzes the weight of the person in the passenger seat, and if they do not weigh enough to safely use an airbag the car automatically turns the airbag feature off that seat. There is a light in the car that shows you whether the airbag for the seat is on or not and you can override that.
IS there a trunk release on the inside of the trunk in case the unthinkable happens?
–Yes there is. It’s a glow in the dark pull tag, that will release the trunk should anyone need to.
Does it have fourwheel drive, I don’t know the name of it, but when you are on slippery ice, it kicks on so that you don’t spin out.
–The Chevy Malibu has both the Stabilatrak and 4 wheel anti-lock brakes.
Allison said: I would love to do road trips and my kids’ comfort is most important!
-Road trips can be made to feel a little shorter with the XM radio on the Chevy Malibu gives you 170 commercial free digital radio stations, you can also use an ipod, or iphone to listen to music. And I’ll be doing a video on that soon, so stay tuned! There is also lots of leg room in the back along with an electrical outlet for plugging in dvd players or computers on the road!
Thanks for letting me know what you all wanted to know about the Chevy Malibu- hope I answered your question!

No wonder you’re going to be sad to give the Malibu back! I had no idea there is a Bose sound system in the Malibu! That really rocks!

Stopping from Mom Loop! The car sounds awesome. What great questions.
A Daddy Blog says
It’s a pretty cool car. Much nicer than I would have expected not having ever been in one. Plus some of the features available from Chevy like the OnStar and XM Radio are really great. I’m still thinking one of the new Camaros would make a great family car, though? I’m sure I can wedge a car seat in there. It’s gotta have more leg room in back than that Mini Cooper I’ve been thinking about. Thanks for answering our questions.

I can totally picture you on a showroom floor at the state fair modeling and talking over a wireless mic about the Chevy Malibu while the platform slowly spins.
You would be perfect! I really want to buy one now!! 🙂 I’m sad to see you lose it as well. It’s been fun watching your videos.
