I’ll be honest. I was not at all cool and nonchalant about the Royal Wedding. I was into it. I was dorkily, dorkily into it.
I wanted to see the dress, the kiss- everything. And Kate and William did not in my opinion disappoint. They were in fact worth getting up at 3:30 am for.
– 3:30am Kate and William getting ready to get in cars for the wedding. I got ready to start some STRONG coffee.
–4:03am I take a picture of the VCR clock in order to prove that I am indeed awake. I am as astonished as anyone that I am voluntarily out of my bed at this early time. Cinnamon rolls go into oven.
-4:05am I take picture with David Beckham. I wasn’t really trying to- but he came on the TV as I snapped. And if David Beckham wants to be in a photo with me- who am I to say no? 🙂
-4:10am My awesome and kindly neighbor comes over to enjoy the royal festivities with me! Hooray, I’m not alone in my excitement! Also she brought scones. So win win;)
–Kate arrives. Much oohing and ahhing ensues in my livingroom.
-I might have made a mimosa. It might have been very yummy.

THE KISS!
I get that not everyone is into the Royals. And really I’m not either. The monarchy isn’t really something I get, or even think is a good thing. But I can remember watching William as a little kid, and then at Princess Diana’s Funeral. And I just love that he grew into such a seemingly kind and self assured man.
And really- why not celebrate when anyone finds love?
It’s sometimes nice to pause and have a moment where you just celebrate a good news story in the world. And for me- this wedding was a feel good story in every way. I enjoyed it- AND I REFUSE TO BE ASHAMED! Haha.
Did you watch? Thoughts?

He really does seem like a sincere, kind man who will do much good in his life. It’s so amazing to see the love they share for each other and I wish them the best! I didn’t get up, but I watched as many highlights as I could when I did wake up at 7 🙂

I did watch and I did get sucked in and I loved it!! I got up at 5:45 in time to watch the queen arrive and the rest of it. It was lovely. The cathedral was amazing, the hats were jaw dropping, and Kate looked beautiful. It does seem like a living fairy tale and was complete with all the finery and dress. Loved it!

I watched with JDaniel who woke up extra early this morning. I love the gown, the minister’s message, and the music. It was all wonderful.

I watched the rerun of the wedding. I thought it was really nice. The dress was beautiful. I was amazed at how calm the bride looked. She seemed so happy and excited. Funny when they were walking out and it appeared that William was being so careful not to step on the dress! Loved the car when they left!

You were not alone in you early morning rising. Though, mine was for a different intent, but I did manage to catch the wedding and…well like you…I did a wee blurb about it. 🙂 Here’s to hoping that we can both survive the rest of the day! Cheers!

I am hoping to catch the reruns. I have a porcelian Princess Di doll and remembered watching her wedding. I can’t wait to see the replays. My co-worker took the day off to get up and watch. She sent me a text pic with her & her sister wearing hats and holding teacups at 4am.
You guys just have too much fun! Love the pic with your and Mr. Beckham! HA.

Didn’t watch and thought I wouldn’t care, but after all the hype today I’m wondering what I missed and thinking there should be re-runs as well. I agree that it appears (in spite of all the drama that is his life) William has done well and comes across as his own person.

I am watching the highlights now! You’re right, let’s celebrate a feel good story for once. They certainly looked in love!

I watched Diana’s wedding and I watched this one too. I’m guilty dorkily all about royal wedding too! I have to admit I had finals today so I DVR’d it and stayed away from all media until I got home and watched it!

Though I didn’t get up for it, I was surprised at how much watching the highlights later made me smile. I suppose the News has been so grim lately it was good to see something bright, colorful and happy. 🙂
