Kenmore asked me what my genius tip was! And to have a tip- I first had to have a major problem, which I told you all in a previous post! I was always trying to organize my cupboards, only to forget where things fit best just days later. Within weeks all my hard work would totally disintegrate. It was irritating! But then I discovered a super thrifty design solution!!
Using Chalk board contact paper to label!
You can buy matte black contact paper in rolls very cheaply- and that’s basically all blackboard contact paper is! I usually find it at a teacher supply store or just on Amazon. A roll 12X8 is about $6.00! Once I bought it I couldn’t stop thinking of new design possibilities! It’s a super cheap idea for organizing your cupboards choas- and basically your whole life! The genius is that when what you need to store changes… you just erase it!
Have grocery lists all over your fridge? I did. Now I use chalkboard contact paper to make a list hidden in a cupboard! My fridge front is clean and clear again!
There are truly a million uses for chalkboard contact paper! Having a party? What about labeling peoples wine glasses! When the party is over just peel the chalkboard labels off- it’s just contact paper after all!
I always wanted to label my flour & sugar canisters. But the pre-printed labels I saw always worried me. I change what I’m keeping in the canisters pretty often, and I really needed a label that could be flexible. By using black contact paper I’m able to change any of the labels with just a wipe of a chalkboard…
You can write on the contact paper with just plain jane normal chalk… But I recommend getting a chalk marker if you want the writing to be extra crisp!
The bottom line for me – is that Chalk board contact paper is a thrifty, flexible and CUTE design solution! I love it!
