Do you ever look at a room in your house and just know it could look more pulled together with the right art? That is where I have been stuck in two areas of our home lately. I’m so thrilled I get to partner, with Photowall!
Not only does Photowall’s website have great inspiration and tips for decorating a room with art – but you can buy incredible wallpaper, framed art, and canvas art on their site. For this project I’ve chosen some beautiful nature inspired artwork, and can’t wait to show you how much it helped pull our bedroom and family room together!
This bedroom has a very pretty, dusky purple statement wall. Art we had chosen to hang here previously had two main problems. First, the art we chose did not have enough purple tones in it. It was lovely art – but it didn’t make sense on this statement wall.
Secondly, we did not choose art that was large enough for the space! This is a common mistake.
A good rule of thumb when hanging a piece of art over your bed or couch, is to aim for a piece that is around 3/4 the length of the item you are hanging it over. This forest print is a much better size and color palette for our room
How A Photowall Canvas Order Gets Put Together:
- Our first step in choosing the art for this room, was to visit Photowall.com, and to use their sizing tool to see what different canvases would look like when cropped to the length and width we needed. We were also able to browse thousands of different looks. We wanted to bring nature inside with all of the art we added to our home, so for this room we searched on forests.
- Our order from Photowall came super quickly, and was rolled up tightly. Wood for the canvas supports were packaged neatly alongside the canvas material. Easy to read instructions were included.
- We layed out our heavy duty canvas and sorted the wooden backs by size. The wood already had adhesive applied, and easy to use screws pulled the canvas taught. While we were intimidated at first by having to put our canvas together by ourselves – it ended up being easy and fun!
The room above used to be a playroom. But we have less and less toys laying around the house these days, and this space needed to grow up a little. For this space we had two main walls that needed a little “something.” The space above our piano was bare, and needed a piece of art that brought out the warm red and brown tones of it”s wood.
This art was chosen by my tween. She loves animals and nature, and she fell in love with this magical shot of a doe and her fawn in the woods. I love how its size anchors that wall.
Across from the piano is this sofa. We decided that this beautiful photograph of an ancient tree was the perfect art to bring a little more of the outdoors inside this space. We also love how the plants we have all around this room work so perfectly with it’s subject matter.
One of the reasons we chose Photowall for this room updating project, was that we knew their printing process does a great job of providing clarity in their photos. Even when the photos are blown up quite large.
We redid our powder room last year, and the Photowall wallpaper we used received from them, was thick and had great clarity. (Check out the photo wall we created using wallpaper from Photowall too!)
We are absolutely thrilled with how these high quality canvas prints have brought our room together. Using prints that are different, but that have a common theme (nature) has brought a harmony to our spaces. I love how I can get lost in the depth and beauty of these photographs. Photowall will always be one of the first places we look when our family wants to refresh the look of a room, on a budget.
