On our recent upstate New York road trip, we had the chance to sample some of the best BBQ ever! Keep in mind, we traveled to Mark Twain Country from Texas. Texas – home to much of the world’s best BBQ! So it goes without saying, we are picky. But – Slammin’ Jammin’ BBQ in Corning, New York – was truly a hit with every member of our family.
Slammin’ Jammin’ BBQ puts a roll of paper towels on each table, and you will need it. This BBQ beckons you to dive right in!
Located at 69 E Market st, in the beautiful downtown area of Corning, New York – this BBQ joint looks unassuming from the street. But step inside this rather cavernous space, and choose from two floors full of seating as well as a full bar area. The vibe is casual, and informal – and the menu simple and delicious!
We asked our waitress for her recommendation on what to order, and she suggested the 1/4 pound sampler platter. That includes a sample of all their BBQ meats, 2 sides, and Corn bread or Texas Toast. Our Texas family loves BBQ chicken, pork and Ribs – and Slammin’ Jammin’ BBQ cooked both beautifully. Juicy and covered in BBQ sauce.
We couldn’t stop from licking our fingers.
The surprise of the meal though, was the sausage. It was the tastiest I’ve ever tried! And our 7 year old, who normally turns her nose up at sausage, could not get enough! Absolutely delectable. If you find yourself at Slammin’ Jammin’ – do not leave without tasting the sausage.
You can thank me later!
Slammin’ Jammin’ BBQ is the perfect spot to eat after a visit to the Corning Museum of Glass, a walk around downtown Corning, or as a stopover while you travel through the Southern Tier. The perfect place to gather with friends, and experience some authentic Texas style BBQ, in New York!
