Here are some tips for visiting Daystar Christmas this year:

When Should You Visit:
The lights display will run every night from Nov. 28th until Jan. 5th (6pm to midnight). And is located at 3901 Hwy 121, Bedford, TX 76021.
Like any great light display, Daystar can get more crowded on the weekends. So our family’s first bit of advice is to visit at an “off” time if you can – like middle of the week, or later at night.
It’s also fun to visit early on in the night when the lights have just come on. Why? You can get beautiful photos of the lights at dusk, and then more photos later once it’s gotten totally dark out! You may find your camera captures better detail when there is still a little light in the sky, or that you love the magic of the dark shots! By coming early – you get a set of both lighter and darker photos to choose from!
What are some of the great places to take photos or enjoy the lights at Daystar?
Well, practically everywhere! There are twinkling and enchanting lighted backdrops in every direction. Enjoy stark white lights all over the massive trees in the Daystar front lawn for a classic look.
Or walk through a multi-color explosion of lights in the Daystar Christmas Town Tunnel!
Is food or Drink Available for Purchase?
At select time, yes! The Daystar Scratch Café will be open for cookies and drinks Dec, 6 & 7, 13 & 14, and 16th to 21st (6pm to 10pm) so families can snack as they enjoy the lights! So enjoy a leisurely cup of cheer at the Café and let the holiday magic wash over you.
It will be a sweet way to end your night.
Our family could not get over all the colored trees in single colors. Purple, red, pink trees show from the highway they are so bright. And every branch seems complete covered in illumination! Get ready to spend a lot of time looking up!
Daystar also has a perfectly lit 9-foot interactive wreath! It’s lit from all angles and thus the perfect place to take a family photo! There is even a bench in the middle just waiting for you to take a seat!
Walking around Daystar Christmas just seemed to put everyone in our family, in a good mood. It really and truly feels like the holiday season here! And Daystar has created a perfect place to let children explore. No one here is upset if kids touch a lit up tree, or want to hug a tin soldier! This is a kid-friendly experience through and through.
But don’t be mistaken – this light display is not just for kids! In fact, I can’t think of a more beautiful backdrop for an engagement! Or a holiday date night!
Life Sized Nativity:
The Daystar life size Nativity scene is displayed at the entrance to the property. One of the only Nativity scenes open to the public in the DFW area – this is a great place to let children interact with the reason for the season! Life sized animals flank the manger. Our daughter loved petting and posing with the camels.
This would also be a great place for a family Christmas Card shot. There is lots of room around the Nativity for a great photo. Just look for the signs as you pull in, to see the parking area closest to the Nativity!
Looking to connect with the deeper meaning of Christmas as a family in other ways? Attend the special reading of the Christmas Story on December 20th at 7pm!
Take a Spin in the Elf-Mobile:
I’m not actually sure if it’s called the elf-mobile or not – but that’s what it looked like to our family! This fun mode of transport is happy to bring you from the front of the Daystar property, all the the way to the back. That way you don’t miss any lights. It also makes for a pretty fun photo prop!
The elf driving our buggy was also very happy to listen to Christmas lists. And I suspect he may pass on that info on to Santa! 😉
Meet Santa!
Santa will be arriving in person at Scratch Café starting Dec. 13 & 14th, and then the 18th to 21st (6pm to 8pm). This is a great chance for kids to get some last minute face time in with Santa Clause – and mom and dad to get that all important family keepsake photo! You could make this a night! Come see the beautiful lights, and Nativity and then Santa Clause! Milk and cookies at Scratch Cafe – and you’re sure to have some happy campers on your hands!
The Bottom Line:
The Daystar Christmas Lights are a hidden holiday gem in DFW. So visit them now, before all of of the Metroplex finds out how awesome they are – and descends upon them. It’s only a matter of time before this becomes one of the most popular Christmas Lights locations in all of DFW.
Daystar Christmas has everything. Beautiful lights, a gorgeous Nativity, the perfect holiday atmosphere – and it’s free to experience! Start planning your trip to visit today.
