There is nothing better than a really satisfying DIY project at Christmas time! The only thing that could possibly add to the satisfaction of a job well done – may be when you make Dollar Store Christmas decor! A project doesn’t get much cheaper than dollar store cheap! And this Dollar Store Christmas decor activity, looks much more upscale than the price tag would let on! Here is how to have the perfect Christmas topiary for under $10 each!
Dollar Store Christmas Decor Topiary Trees:
You Will Need:
- Small Metal Tomato Cage
- 15ft Garland (x6)
- Battery Operated Lights (optional)
- Holiday decoration picks (optional)
A word on finding the tomato cages and garland.
Our neighborhood Dollar Tree carries this garland as soon as October. If you don’t see it, ask. The surplus is sometimes in a box in their backroom. Don’t want to use the Dollar Tree variety? No problem. Use whatever you want, just keep in mind the Dollar tree garland comes in 15ft sections and you need 6 of them. So whatever garland you choose to sub, be sure you have approx 90 feet of garland to wrap.
Small metal tomato cages are sold at dollar stores too, but they are often gone from stores in December when you are most likely to want to do this craft. Never fear! You can find the cages at Lowe’s Hardware store ($1.62 each) through the winter or buy them on Amazon (prices vary).
Christmas Topiary Price Breakdown:
Six Garlands (Dollar Store) – $6
Tomato Cage (Lowes) – $1.62
Battery operated light pack (Dollar Store) $1
Assorted Holiday greenery (Dollar Store) $1
Grand Total = $9.62 per topiary!
